Seeing the light! Our 4th EGRET-AAA workshop in Trondheim

Now that all 15 DCs have started their PhD journey, we are excited to share our activities in the 4th EGRET-AAA workshop which took place on 10 – 13 March 2025 in Trondheim, Norway! This workshop was organized by our DC Richie and the Bulbitech team. In this workshop we showcased our newest results and had many inspiring discussions. Monday 10/03/2025

For the first time in our workshops we organized a poster session where every DC could present their progress in a poster presentation. This was a great success and lead to engaging dialogues. After lunch, we went to Bulbitech headquarters to see their BulbiCAM in action and were able to test it out ourselves.		 Research Progress

Tuesday 11/03/2025

On the second day, our DC Lloyd gave a workshop on using Microsoft Excel and we then spent the day having round table discussions with all DCs and PIs in our joint doctorate organization. To end the day, we went to the Storfossen waterfall to cool off. Luckily no one slipped on the ice!

Wednesday 12/03/2025

On Wednesday, we had our scientific symposium on “Biophysics of vision” where we enjoyed talks of Prof. Nomdo Jansonius, Dr. Jonathann Denniss, Dr. Kristian Skoczek, and Alexannder Sverstad. The DCs then started their in-depth grant writing course with Dr. Morgane Colleau. At the end of the day, a few brave adventureres were able to hunt and catch the aurora borealis!		 Research Progress

Thursday 13/03/2025

We finished off the workshop by continuing the grant writing course where we got practical tips and tricks from Joana Carvalho and Prof. Frans Cornelissen. We were also able to get direct insights from a grant evaluator to see the process in their perspective.
