The 3rd EGRET-AAA Workshop in the City of Canals!

| Most DCs have celebrated their 1st anniversary as a EGRET-AAA Doctoral Candidate. We gathered in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 8-11 October 2024 to see how far we have come in one year. This was a special workshop organized by our DCs Giulia and Ana Carolina given particularly hard circumstances. It was an unforgettable experience that confirms how close the DCs have become in only one year. You can read more about what we did during this workshop below. As a tradition we start our workshop with the DCs presenting their progress in a oral presentation of 5 minutes followed by inspiring discussions. It was amazing to see that everyone is on track to produce some amazing output in their research journey. |

Wednesday 09/10/2024
On Wednesday we had an amazing tour in the ophthalmogenetics lab and in the animal facility of the AUMC while wearing high fashion outfits. We concluded the day by starting our symposium on “Mechanisms of glaucoma: implications for therapy” with talks from Prof. Jansonius and Sarah Janssen. |
Thursday 10/10/2024
We continued our symposium with some noteworthy speakers, such as Ellie Wagstaff, Celine Koster, Zoreh Hosseinzadeh, Fred de Winter, Coralie Fassier, and Steven Bernstein. To end this scientific masterpiece, we all jumped on a boat to discover Amsterdam through the canals. |

Friday 11/10/2024
On the last day the DCs got a workshop on grant writing and a workshop on time management. Then it was time to say goodbye again, until the next workshop! |
